Anglemaster: What angles do I grind ?

Angles are set, taking account of the current wear of the bedknife.

Required angles depend upon the size of the blade (mower size) and the ground conditions.

Greater angles should be applied if conditions are dirty or if top dressing is applied.

Small Blades Top Face: 7° ± Dirt Factor of 2°= 5° to 9° Front Face: -5°

Medium Blades Top Face: 9° ± Dirt Factor of 3°= 6° to 12° Front Face: -5°

Large Blades Top Face: 11° ± Dirt Factor of 4°= 7° to 15° Front Face: -5°
